Just had another book review published in Library Journal. This one is for a book I highly recommend: The Poison King by Adrienne Mayor. However I will add that if you aren’t up on your Alexander the Great, it could be a bit confusing.
I’m pretty pleased with this review, because it was published almost exactly as I wrote it (plus I loved the book). Hopefully that means I’m getting the style closer to what they want. Learning to write for the style of a particular publication seems to be a more useful skill than, say, blogging. But maybe that’s not true with layoffs and buyouts in print media these days.
